Work Permit

In order to work full time in Canada you must obtain Work Permit. Work permit allows a foreign national to work in Canada.

In this type of work permit you can work for any employer in Canada except for

• 1. Is listed as ineligible on the list of employers who have failed to comply with the conditions, or
• 2. Regularly offers striptease, erotic dance, escort services or erotic massages

Post Graduate Work Permit (PGWP) is an open work permit for which you are eligible once you finish your Canadian studies. A 1-year full time Canadian study makes you eligible for a year of open work permit. However, if your study is 2 years or more than you are eligible for a 3-year open work permit.

There are 2 types of work permits: open work permits and employer-specific work permits.

• 1. The employer who wants to hire you must obtain an LMIA and give it to you.
• 2. Then, you include that in your application and apply for work permit.
